- Communications: Messages sent to our AI tutor or support

- Usage Data: Study sessions, quiz attempts, flashcard reviews
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system
- Log Data: Access times, pages viewed, errors encountered

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides:
- Encrypted data storage
- Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring you can only access your own data
- Secure authentication via Supabase Auth

Your Groq API key is stored locally in your browser and optionally in the database. It is never transmitted to our servers except for direct communication with Groq's API.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following cases:
- Published Content: Materials you choose to publish are visible to other users
- Service Providers: With Supabase (hosting), Groq (AI services), and Deepgram (voice AI)

6. Publishing and Account Verification
To publish study materials to the Discovery section, users must have earned at least 3 achievements. This requirement helps us verify active accounts and maintain content quality. Achievement data is used solely for this verification purpose and to display your progress in your profile.

- Access: View all data associated with your account
- Correction: Update your profile information
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
- Export: Download your study materials
- Opt-out: Disable notifications in Settings

8. Third-Party Services
SimplStudy integrates with the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage
- Groq: AI content generation (requires your own API key)
- Deepgram: Real-time voice AI agent for voice tutoring

9. Children's Privacy
SimplStudy is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
10. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage to:

- Store your Groq API key locally
We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
11. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion:
- All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Published content may be retained anonymously if it has been cloned by others
- Backup systems may retain data for up to 90 days for recovery purposes
